Disaster assistance available through new Peer Support Line

This confidential helpline can assist NYSUT members and their families dealing with the horrific impact of Hurricane Ian.

NYSUT members impacted by the devastation of Hurricane Ian in Florida and the southeastern U.S. who are having difficulty coping can contact the new Peer Support Line for assistance.

This confidential helpline -- staffed by trained in-service and retired individuals employed by Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care -- is available to assist members and their families with accessing local and national resources.

Callers to the Peer Support Line will also connect with a caring listener who can offer support to those experiencing the emotional toll of damage, loss, and destruction caused by the hurricane.
